Searched with no answer to this question.

Can you turn the octave of the black cat on/off to get a plain fuzz effect or is the octave section always on?

I like fuzz but I don't always want to octave engaged so I thought about a wooly mamoth and a clean octave pedal (octron?) but if the Black cat can turn the octave on and off that may be the way to go for me.

btw, anyone got any clips of the black cat?

    Thanks in advance.

No, but it is a very subtle effect to begin with. Through the use of the two switches (Harmonic and filter switches) it does make the octave effect lews noticable.

I have no sample, but I can attest that mine is good, and it is a pedal I will never part with.

    Thanks for the response.

So is it as subtle as say, the Univox Superfuzz? you can hear it there but it's not pre octave?

Sorry, but I am not familiar with the Unifox. If you've ever heard a Maestro Brassmaster, then that is a good comparison (especially since this is a reproduction of that pedal).

Same kind of octave effect as the Univox.
If you're after a Superfuzz style pedal, you should really try the Guyatone TZ-2.
