So I've sold a pair of basses and have some gig money. I had my mind sent on buying a G&L tribute LB100 (natural), but now I'm also considering a pair of Eden EX112 cabinets.

    Help me decide.

    Edit: went with my gut...LB100

  4. As an owner of the 4 string version of the Yamaha I say G&L. The bass I own plays great, feels lovely and sounds.... meh. Nothing I can do fixes it and the shape of the pickups makes it difficult to fix. I'm jonesing again for another passive P type and the Tribute G&L has been on my radar.

    *edit*
I don't know what rig you're running but if it was me I'd buy the cabs

G&L's are rock solid basses.More than likely it'll still be rockin' when you and I are both long gone

Current rig is carvin bx250 or markbass LMii with either hartke 210xl or fender rumble 210 cabinets.

Yeah it's really down to the G&L vs the cabinets.

  8. You have a decent rig as is IMO. What basses are you playing? These days I'm more into amps than basses so I'd still lean to the cabs haha

Truthfully, I like my rig. Just wondered if the cabs were so much better than what I have that they'd be worth considering.

I foresee an LB100 in my future....

  10. From what I hear you can't go wrong with the G&L and as I said, I'm looking to get one myself. I have amps I want before that though hahaha

I'm about to pull the trigger on the LB100. It will be my first ever pure precision bass.

I don't want to sound like a party pooper but if you aren't sure maybe you should save the cash and wait for something that you are sure you want. But if it's burning a hole in your pocket then I vote cabs.

  15. Meh cabs are monitors. I haven’t had a mic on a cab at a gig in years. So I’d go with the bass

You made the right choice going with the L100.
Pics when you bring it home.

An urgently needed kidney stone procedure has slowed down the progress on my order. Procedure went well. I'm home resting. The retailer I'm buying from on Reverb was nice enough to take a picture of a few of the same bass so I could pick out the swamp ash grain pattern I like best. I'm waiting on the final invoice from them so I can place the order.
