    It's still months away from arriving, but I can hardly wait so I played around with a paint program and came up with this:
    The color is a little off and I messed up the lettering on the decal a bit, but you kind of get the idea. I'm glad I decided to go with the matching headstock; I think it's going to look very cool.

    very neat ....I'd have to agree.....matching headstock.

    Can you tell me what, as we say in marketing, the "love story" is on that bass.
    * tone
    * vibe
    * who's the player

    I mean, when I see it, I think...old-school, blues, fat, organic, rock n roll, t-bird thing perhaps. Flatwounds maybe? Tube amp?

    Or am I missing it?

    Enjoy! I got mine about a year ago, and it is one of my all-time favorite basses.

    That Decade with blocks and binding on the neck would be my personal definition of HAWT!!!

    Look at the decade on the lakland basses page. The purple one.
  9. Great looking bass!
    And the best sounding one on the Audio page from lakland.com
    Althrough I also enjoyed the Glaub and Osborne bass on their site.

    Hope to ad a Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn with Darkstar to the collection this year

    It’s absolutely gorgeous. It weighs only 8.5 lbs. and has the nicest feeling and playing neck I’ve experienced. It sounds incredible. I was blown away with how great and unique the Dark Stars sound. I’ve only played it through my Ampeg B-100r, but I don’t think that amp has ever sounded so cool.

    Played a bass like that at a GTG in NYC last sept. Here is a pic of Dan and I. Is that the bass you like? It was very cool.

    I'm not sure. Dan gave me a special deal on this one because I was the winner of the bass naming contest a couple years ago.

    Did you guys hear about the pickup naming contest they have going on right now? The winner gets a Skyline Decade with your choice of the new pickups.
