I have a carvin 810, almost new, used less than a handful of times, I don't know if I'll ever have a use for it. I was trying to trade it off for either two 410's or a 115 and a 410. Just to give myself more options. I was offered a GB 410 extended range cabinet for it. My only concern would be, theres no way I could afford another GB cabinet to go with it. Would I be able to play through the GB 410 and a carvin 410 with no trouble? or would that cause problems? Should I hang onto the 810? should I trade for the GB? Should I get the GB and use it by itself or try to trade it for a 115 and 410 of another brand?

If a 810 is too big why are you worried about having 2 410. You'll end at the same place tone and volume wise at a higher cost. If you like the sound of the Carvin, then I would keep it or switch to a Carvin 410.

If you don't like the sound of the Carvin, then I would trade it for the Genz Benz. GB makes exceptional quality gear and has amazing customer support. From my experience with that series, it should be able to do anything you will ever need by itself and handles a ton of power. I would check to see if the GB is a 4 or 8 ohm cabinet.

actually, I would like to have two 410's so I would have the option of either running a single 410, or two, depending on the size of the venue, as opposed to having to bring the 810 to a coffee house, LOL.

For a coffee house setting, a 410 will probably still be overkill. All depends on the type of music you play and how loud the rest of your band is. I can easily get by with 120W and a 112 in this sitaution. Sounds like you would be be better of picking up a 210 or a 112 for these small gigs and keeping the 810 for the larger ones. Also don't overlook a 212 configuration. They get better bass than a 410 at the cost of a little volume and punch.

Check out Avatar they have some quality cheap cabinets.

thanks JM. I'd look into the others except I'm broke and this was something offered, so I figured I'd check into it
