  1. Has anybody else noticed that the Carvin stores and Carvincorporation on Ebay are having clearance like sales?
What do you guys think are they going to make through these tough times?

Yep, one of my guitarist is considering a Carvin tube head model and I noticed they're site had its price nearing the half way point a few day ago. With deals like this, I think they'll be fine until things get better.

Are you asking whether Carvin will continue to survive? I see little evidence that they will not.

More than most gear manufacturers, Carvin is in a position to determine their own destiny - because their business model frees them from having to keep their prices high in order to support a network of distributors and retailers. I wouldn't be too concerned...

Carvin is always having sales. Likewise, whenever it makes sense they are clearing older stock and store demos. So what's different?

  5. Exactly...............

Namm is coming up, and new stock is being introduced.

Time to move to the old stuff out to make way for the new

They will no doubt downsize; Everyone will downsize. This is not a recession like any of us have lived/worked through before, kids....

But I think Carvin will survive. They are a financially conservative company who keeps their shiz tight (hence them being around since... ~1940s). Other builders might not be so lucky.
