UGHHHH! Went to turn on the head it powers up but no sound at all. Took the top cover off and found a penny inside (grandkids ). Any suggestions on what I should check before taking it to the shop? Got power but no sound and I love this amp.

That penny might have shorted a component but something easy you could try is plugging a guitar cable between your effects send and return jacks. If the amp suddenly starts working like this you've just got dirty switching contacts in your return jack.

Check all of the most rudimentary things, even if they seem painfully obvious, before looking for strange or unusual causes, e.g., mute switch, knob positions, cables, jacks, fuses, etc.

If you have a second amp, you can troubleshoot to assure the problem is with your Carvin, and not with a cable or speaker.
