Carvin b500 head

  1. i just got a american Jazz bass and im looking for a amp this would be my first big amp i ahve a tiny 30 watt practice amp but i recently joined a seroouis band in a need a amp with some power.I play progressive metal like dream theater, ect. i recently got a gallen krugger 4x10 backline it was a great deal at guitar center 124 usd, when its usly 347 i was looking at a carvin B500 head and i would like to know if anyoone knows about this amp

    It might be a little biased but you can also go to the Carvin Forums and read what people are saying about them.

    So far, all I have heard has been positive on the new heads.

    Carvin's not horrible... and neither is GK. but I really think there is just better equipment out there for the money. I honestly have never heard good things from the Backline GK series.

    I truly dont think Carvin is worth much consideration. You would get the power you need.... but its dependability might be questionable.

    I'd probably put brands like Hartke, and SWR ahead of Carvin if your on a really tight budget.
