I was planning on getting the BRX810.4 at the end of this month, but If you buy the same Head/Cab seperately you save $150 bucks! Am I missing something?

It sounds to me like Carvin's got something brewing over there. Either way, that's a great deal on an awesome head. Thanks for the look-out.

Dammit. I bought my B800 5 weeks ago at $429 :crying: Ah well...

A rackable B800 would be cool -- The current B800 chassis height would actually fit a 2-space rack.

With all the boutique gear gurus around here giving the B1500 very high praise I would say this B800 little brother is possibly the best mid-size head deal going . Chrome corner caps on that box would look nice but it would be hard to find ones to fit the angles of those corners.

I bought mine a week ago, recieved it Wednesday.

I sent an email asking for the discount to be applied to mine. Hell, it's still in the trial period. I could send it back, and order another one.

Don't know if I can resist this!

Anyone know how well the B800 would match up with an Epi UL310?

I'm very interested in the brx212--I'm a sucker for the 45 degree angled 12" and the bi-amping. What I'd really be unable to resist is this cab offered as non-bi-amped "airhead" version and slap my soon to arrive Thunderfunk tfb-420 into it!!!! I should email Carvin and see if they'd make a price for such a beast.

Hmmm? Maybe you're right--get a brx212 stock, test drive it, try it w/ a tfunk head going into it, if I like the carvin as it comes--leave it--if I prefer the tfunk in it--sell the B800 as a separate head! (or keep as backup!) Now the question is: w/ the funky bi-amped neutrix connector between head and speaker how could I test a t-funk head into it w/o voiding the warranty? Do you think it would be much of an issue to rewire the cab portion into a conventional 2x12 w/ HF and an attenuator or pad or something on the HF? Damn!:spit:

  15. Sorry for the swerve, but...

Smash, did you get your BX1200 yet?
  16. Thanks for the review, Smash. I was keenly interested in your take on this one.

    Just FYI,
I thought I read somewhere that the B800 in the combo does not have a metal box around it when removed. In other words, if you pull the amp, you'll have the faceplate, base and not top or sides to hide the inner workings. Could be wrong.

I think that might be correct, although I saw a picture of someone who rack mounted a B800 over on the Carvin BBS. He said he removed the handle and the feet to get it in the rack and used some gasket material and screws to hold it in place. Here's a pic:

Cool! Just goes to prove, when there's the will, there's a way:cool:
I'm assuming that is the stand alone amp and that the guy didn't saw that part of the combo off to keep the case.

I believe it is the stand alone...at least I hope it is. ;)
