Hey any carvin fans around? Any one who hates it? i am looking into a new bass and carvin b4 kit is a ....interesting option. It seems to be a custom american made bass for under 400.00. The downside? I don't know. If you have any information one way or the other please help. Thanks in advance.

looking but not commenting huh? come on guys help me out
  3. I just built the fretless version.
Sounds pretty good, haven't recorded with it or anything. I made it to have an unlined fretless so I could practice the ear with out moving around my DB.
Quality seems real good for something that is $400
I went with the ash body.

Ditto for me...I built the unlined fretless version BK4 with the active electronics. I like it a lot...Plays nice, feels good, sounds great, etc. Easy to assemble and it looks good with a dark walnut stain. I recommend!

    Hi 4stringedwonder,

I didn't build my own Carvin, but I have one and know several others that *did*build one. Here's a link that I think will be of interest to you:

    Jisch's Carvin construction project

    Hope it helps....
