Carvin DCM1001??

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by John K., Apr 21, 2002.

  1. I was looking at some of Carvin's poweramps earlier today and found the Carvin DCM1001. It has 2 channels both with their own graphic EQ. My question is, can that graphic EQ be used as a sort of preamp for bass? Or would I be better off just getting the Carvin DCM1000 w/o the EQ? Thanks, and sorry if this question is kinda lame.

I paid for all my gear myself. Well, me and MasterCard.
That amp is meant to take line level inputs. If your bass is active, you might make it work, otherwise forget it.

My experience is that Carvin uses really cheap chips in their signal processing stuff. So it's probably not the world's best equalizer. I'd suggest you go with a regular bass preamp and your choice of power amp.
  3. alright, looks like im getting the dcm1000 then
