i'm quite outraged. The jack for the instrument cable on my Carvin LB75 is dead.
I bought the bass brand new and only had it for 20 years.
And in these 20 years, i even had it sitting in the closet for 3 years while i took a break from playing the bass. So my problem is the following: The jack itself looks like nothing i have seen around. Not your standard'ish stereo plug. The German distributor for Carvin is not the same as it was in 1996 when i bought it and the new guys refuse to help me because they did not sell the bass.
What can i do? Can i use the standard stereo jack instead?
  2. It would help if you posted an image of the jack.

Also try contacting Carvin Support via email.

Carvin is pretty good at stocking parts for everything they make, or at least have the part number and specs. Post a picture here, someone is sure to recognize it.
  4. Only 20 years? Shouldn't it be under warranty?

I'll try and post a warranty claim ;-)
For 20 years it is in really good shape.

And i'll try and contact carvin directly, omitting the German distribution.
