I am going to order a Carvin LB70 bass guitar and I don't know much about my pickup options. I can do the following:

    1. Replace J99 single coil with H50N stacked humbuckers
    2. Replace J99 neck pickup with HB series bridge humbucker and coil splitter

What are the pros and cons of doing either of these?

I have a LB70 with the J99 at the neck and the HB2 humbucker at the bridge and I really like the sound. It is very versitile due to the blend knob and kinda "funky" with the HB2. The J99 is a very good single coil pickup (crystal clean sound). I have never heard a H50N pickup, but i have read that it is not as punchy and not as loud as the J99.

This is a very modern sounding bass (since it is active), but that is the style i play
