Hello to all. I have a customer interested in a Carvin PB200. I would like to know if anyone here has tried one of these and how does it perform comapared to other combos in the same price range. Specially Ampeg or Crate (I have those brands too) I always try to recommend whats best for my customers, but I have no experience with the PB200. Thanks in advance.
i had a pb-200 for 3 years in high school and loved it... the parametric eq was really useful... IMO, better sounding than crate, and cheaper than ampeg for the same amount of volume
I've had one for a little over a year and I love it. I was going to sell it to go to a head/cab setup, but since I've started playing with it at church, I changed my mind. It's perfect for stage monitoring and and any small indoor gigs. It has a line out to run direct, and has a killer tone. It's great for funk, just crank the compressor up and get a clean bite on every attack, but also can get a really warm tone. I'm about to get a Sansamp Driver DI to pair with it and use it for recording with my band. I haven't played the Crates or Ampegs, but I can definitely say this combo is a lot of bang for the buck. Dirk
I have one, and not sure what to say about it. It wasn't louder than my Crate 15 watter . I sent in the head 3 weeks ago and not sure when I'll see it again.
