I played a Koa 6 string carvin down at guitar center yesterday, and it had odd tuning keys. They were almost ovalish/hexagonal.. They weren't schaller or gotoh... Can anyone help me out here?

  2. I played that too. Didn't like it much, but I played it.

At the danvers store? It wasn't the best 6er I've played.

Did you try out the thumb neck thru or the fretless corvetter, or even the Geddy that was on the stand? All three of those played quite nicely.

    Probably the Sperzel locking tuners

I had them on my LB75, great tuners IMO

  7. I played a little of wooten's big country solo on the corvette. she is a mighty fine bass. i have a fretted vette myself. the thumb is also nice. haven't played the geddy.

... I did the exact same thing!...

  9. Oh snap. I love, love, love that tune. It is by far and long my favorite bass solo. Gets all sorts of tones out of the bass and your all over the neck for the whole sound.

Yeah. I'm actually playing that song for a show with one of my smaller groups (with a banjo) in a few months. I'll be sure to get clips.
