i've just bought a new bass. it is a Carvin, 5 strings , whole body and double elecromagnetic pick'up. i bought it used in perfect conditions for about 500-550$ and they told me it is worth more than a thousand. can you tell me more about it?

First let me say welcome to the wonderful of carvin... good affordable basses that IMO easily outshine everything else in the price range. It is possible that your bass might have cost more than $1000 new. mine did, but you have to add quite a bit of options to actually get it that high above the $700-something basic price. If the salesman was talking about the list price... well thats list price... although carvin does claim the list price of their stuff to be a LOT more than it would ever sell for. Can you post a pic? im interested in seeing what your new baby looks like!

  4. I just bought a used Carvin 5 string as well, I believe its a LB75, it has no visible scratches or anything, plus it came w/ a hardcase and it was under 500

    Wow!

I never find much used Carvin gear around here unless it's really old and ragged out.

  10. I have not seen many Carvin basses in pawnshops,
But this one is pretty nice.
I don't think they knew what it was. The Carvin logo
and Bunny Brunel sig were missing.
It has a maple neck thru with alder wings, Black hardware, Sperzle tuners, and Wilkinson bridge.
    Not bad for $155.00!:D

    Not bad at all!

Did you post on the Carvin board asking about the logos for that thing? There was someone over there with a BB bass with no logos on the headstock.
