Does carving/shaping bass body and head on this Washburn (bad pic.) affect sound/tone?
I've thought about shaping, aspecially the upper horn, a bit thinner on the body (mahogany colored maple) and move the D str.tuner a bit closer to the G str. tuner and cut of the old D tuner "hole" piece from the head (a bit more "peavey/fenderish" styled)

I really think that the only thing that will change anythign is reshaping the head. The mass will change and you MAY loose a little bit of sustain. I might be exhagerating. I'm not sure.
