Case repair/rebuild...

I recently got an 65 EB-0 and the bass is in good condition for a vintage instrument. The case, not so much. Largely the issue is that the thread sewing it together is rotted away. The binding is still semi-attached in places, the lining is intact, and the main structure is whole.

I’m talking to a local upholstery shop about re-stitching it. They are somewhat skeptical that their machines will handle the task. Does anyone have another suggestion about who I might be able to get to do this repair?
