cavity space

  1. this may (most likly) sound stupid, but its been buging me. if you have a small pickup, like a J99 or something like that, can you put a bigger pickup in its spot? just get a shop to carve the wood to the proper fit?
     
  2. if you have a tech than can do it anything is possible a good exampale would be the yamaha attitude bass, its bassed on a fender bass that billy put a big gibson pickup in, hope that helps

    I don't see why with a little wood work it would'nt be possible. It all depends on the cavity of the bass but the routing for the wires is virtually the same.
