I think I have one...or two. I'm 15, and I've never had one before. But my two back teeth on both sides (right more so than left) aches when i apply pressure. I'm pretty sure it's a cavity (-ies). I told my dad to call the dentist tommorow. Any comments? To people who have had cavities, what's the operation like?
Nothing special. They inject a needle into your gums to make your mouth go numb, then they start drilling. When the drill hits the "sweet spot" it feels like a cold shiver going down your spine, except with teeth; makes your whole body shake. It's hard to explain. It hurts, but it's not horrible. The whole operation for one tooth shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. It's nice to hear the women dentists trying to calm you and saying "You're taking this better than some people!"
It might also be your wisdom teeth coming in. That is, assuming they haven't already. I'm 15, soon to be 16, and mine have been coming in since about a year ago. They haven't hurt tons, but pressure does worsen the effect.
last time i had cavities i had 7!!! so dont complain if it gives you booboos, i had to go through 2 1 hour procedures. then next time i went i got a root canal. and im 17! i hate the dentist
I have cavities, but still, I haven't gone in 5 or 6 years and no plans on it. if you can get gassed before the needle... it is well ever see the simpsons and lisa's braces?
