Reading my Ampeg 210SP manual I found out that I could put a drum machine into the CD Input and use the amp to, well, amplify the drum machine. I have two questions:

    1) If I were to buy, use and play along with the drum machine through the amp, would this be practical? Would it damage the amp at all?

    2) What's a good, cheap drum machine? ;p

I really just want something to practice with :(

I have an ampeg ba112 with the same feature, rca inputs for a cd player. I plug in my yamaha qy100
sequencer sometimes. It has drums, plus about every other instrument too. You might discover that this is a great tool to begin learning songwriting with. No, it will not hurt the amp, as long as you do not turn it up so loud as to damage the speaker.
