I have an opportunity to buy a used Celinder J Update 5.

It's made in 2000 and my question is if anybody knows if Celinder has changed the preamp/pickups since that year.

On the older bass there's 3 knobs and jack on the front, and on the newer basses there's 4 knobs and and jack on the bottom.

    Does anybody know this ?

    Hej der!

Yeah, I think he's started to incorporate the Aguilar OBP-3 preamp into his new basses.

I got one of those in my Celinder Custom 6 this summer and it's smashing to have the new mid-control.

    Ha' det fint... :)

    Hey Again :)

I actually tried the bass today and it was not so good as I hoped - It only had Bass/Treble Boost and no mids what so ever. So no Celinder 5 for me :crying:

    Hi again!

Well, you could get another preamp build into it, fx. the Aguilar obp-3 with a stacked knob for mid AND bass...

But ok, it's not a good idea to buy it if the bass wouldn't feel good in your hands.

Try a custom Celinder, they rock... :bassist:
