only thing i can say is try to stay high in your house...near a window...

some services just don't have good signals in a particular place

if i'm in my house i have a good signal...but if i go across teh street i have a bad one...go figure

  4. would not having a local number have something to do with it?

Get a better service provider, or get a better celly. My Nokia 5100 seems to get bit better signal than the average phone, even under meters of concrete where my bands rehearsal place is.

just read his sig and it will explain everything :smug:

  10. Get a crappier/older phone.

I've had experience with many new cell phone models. They kept breaking. I now have an old crappy one and it has better signal than any of the fancy ones my family and friends have.

(its' not that old, it's still digital and has games and stuff, it's just not all futuristic and slim and stuff)

  12. You have a number of choices. First you have to realise that you are in the wrong country. Move to Europe for a proper network of cells/ base stations.

True though the above is, I guess that moving across the Atlantic just for better phone service is a bit extreme..so, if you are going to be using your phone at home a lot, find out which service/network has a base station near you and switch SIM cards. The phone model is not the main issue. If you live miles from the nearest base station and/or in some dip in the ground or valley, then you need a satelite phone.

I don't think he is for real. I think that is another member pulling our collective legs.
