Cerwin-Vega B-36 Information Wanted (18"+12" horn)

A little off topic:

I still have a Sunn Coliseum 8028 cab that has a front facing EV 12 and an 18" that isn't folded, but is tilted up at a 45º angle. Also has a passive x-over to split the signal between the two.
Sounds killer when I run it with a GK 1001/210 combo. LOUD

Used to have a Sunn Coliseum folded reflex 18" that was supposed to be used with another twin cab stacked upside down. The two created a monster 2x18 horn configuration.
Saw Entwistle use this rig in Seattle in '72 after The Who's equipment truck flipped en route. They had to scramble and rustle up some gear for the show. This rig totally filled Seattle Center Coliseum (now Key Arena) with Sunn goodness.

If you're still looking for drivers, I just stumbled across this place that apparently has some of the original 12" Cerwin Vega ER 124 drivers in stock, used but rated to be in excellent condition.

Had apair of B36MF's in the 80's. Drove them with the Cerwin Vega BG250 Head. I was playing in a touring band at the time and at every sound check I heard the same thing, "Turn that effing Bass down." Never could hear Myself on stage with that band. Later I started using One B36MF withan old Plush P1000s head ( Fender Bandmaster in Naugahyde)
and had very satisfactory results. But the band I was playing with then had an incredibly loud stage volume across the board. I use nothing but front loaded 15's now and hear Myself better than ever. Can't beat a B36MF for low end though if You don't mind the stage volume sacrifice.

I put a JBL K120 in mine. The circuit breaker kept tripping in the cab. I really believe it was faulty. When it worked which would be for two minutes it sounded great. The head I used? 1970 SVT. Real nice. Marshall 100 was terrible in this application. SWR SM-400 replaced the SVT. One 2x10 Goliath II Jr. showed me how good everything could sound. Added three more. CV went out.
Be careful when wheeling them the wood is not so robust where the casters are bolted on. The wood around the 12" was compromised. I used Tnuts.

The first one of these cabinets I saw was one my uncle had in 1978. It was covered in a fiberglass type trip as opposed to felt/carpet and it had two 6 inch speakers front mounted instead of the 12. I bought one with the 12 and used it for a couple years. At one point I ran a Fender cabinet with 2 15 inch JBLs along side powered by an Acoustic 450 head. I traded that off for (what was supposed to be the ultimate bass cabinet at the time) a new Sunn cabinet that had two 15's, but in a quasi folded design. It was an awful sounding cabinet. I like the sound of a folded horn design and actually just purchased two Peavey SP-1' mains from a friend in Idaho. I'd like to find another Cerwin Vega B-36 with the front loaded speaker also, but they are hard to find.

The B-36A is 8 ohms rated at 300W with a usable frequency response of 40Hz - 400Hz. It has one 188EB 18" driver. The dimensions are 36" x 24" x 24-1/2" (H x W x D) and weighs 125 lbs. It's rating at 1m @ Rated Input is 128 dB.
