hey y'all. I was wonderin how many of you guys get sick of just playin the standard bass "grooves" and rhythm and whatnot. I have recently found that coming up with "grooves can be pretty easy and can get a little old. So I have been playing around and come up with some really pretty sounding melodic lines not so typical to most of the stuff you hear on the radio and in the hypocrites heads. Like stuff that has beat but it sounds more emotional than simply "funky" or "bluesy". Ya dig? often way up in the high register. Kinda in the same category as the melodic line in Severed by Mudvayne although I started doing this before I heard that song. Anyone else like playing this kinda stuff? almost like emotional guitar stuff but it sounds much more dramatic and obviously better on our intrument. Comments?
