I have a bass that I was thinking of selling.. but then I thought that perhaps I could just convert the neck to a fretless neck and keep the bass.. I am thinking buy a fretless neck for the same bass and just bolt it on.. Is that and setting up the neck?

Anyone who has done this.. How did it go? Are you happy with the results? Would you reccomend doing this to someone else?

If there is an aftermarket fretless neck readily available then its pretty much a straight forward bolt on scenario. No different than swapping another fretted neck.

The string set up would probably need to be different but apart from that, not a problem so long as the neck fits the body. Lots of people have had necks defretted without issue too.
