Ok, basically i have two basses and i want to switch the pickups. i've never done any bass modifcation besides chaning strings(yeehaw).

i bought a soldering iron and don't even really know how to use it exactly.

what's the best way to go about chaning to pickups?

should i just pull the soldered connections off of the pickups? or should i pull them off the pots?

also, any soldering tips/ advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

though i am no welder i know that you should not un-solder at the pick-up,leave as much wire as you can coming of the pick-up,you may need it,take it of at the pot end and re-connect the wires the same way they came off ,as far as the actual soldering 1)heat up the iron,2)touch it to the solder while holding it near area to be solderered 3)then apply hot melted solder at the joint in need of connecting,4)let dry repeat as neceassary
    hope this helps
