Changing pickups to an Ibanez Ergodyne

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by hellhound, May 23, 2001.

  1. Hi everyone! I have an Ibanez Ergodyne EDB605. This bass has active EQIII 3-band equalizer and two passive soapbar pickups (according to Ibanez.com).
The bass sounds really good with his actual-factory default config, has a clean sound but I think it lacks of low-warm sound. So, Im looking for 2 pickups to remplace the actual factory-default.

    What pickups should I try?
    EMG Extended Series
    Bartolinni
    maybe Seymour Duncan?

    Thanks!

PD: Remember, passive pickups, soapbars, low-warm sound!

Changing the PREAMP would make a lot more difference than changing the PICKUPS.

I suggest buying a Bartolini NTMB preamp, and having someone install it. It'll change the sound drastically. Changing the pickups isn't really necessary.
