  1. Late 90's Charles Cote 5 string bass for sale. Made in the USA. Bass is in great condition with just a little bit of player wear.

This bass has a 34" scale, a bolt-on maple/pao ferro neck/fretboard that measures 1 15/16" at the nut, 2 3/4" at the 12th fret, and 3 3/16" at the 24th fret. It has 19 mm string spacing. Tuners are Gotoh.

The body has a beautiful bird's eye maple top. It has Cote soap bar pickups, a 9 volt HAZ preamp, active/passive switching. Bridge is a BadAss V.

Comes with a TKL hardshell case.

$750 obo, plus actual shipping costs.

Any luck selling your Charles Cote Bass? I searched your items on eBay, and didn't see the guitar listed. I'm asking because I too have a Charles Cote bass for sale. I'm not much of a bass guy:meh:, I got this bass from a trade. I just know it's a fretless Charles Cote, I believe pre-1995 because I can't find a serial number for it. It's a beautiful bass and sounds amazing! I have no need for it since I don't play bass, so I would like to sell it to someone that will appreciate it!

I'm only asking $500 plus $50 shipping. I have it listed on eBay (seller name: dolphins*). It's hard to find information on the internet, other than some history on Charles Cote. Can't find too many people that actually own one of his basses.

Anyway, hope you had good luck with your sale!

Wow! Rare indeed. I had Charles make me a fmt R5 and my "will-never-sell" Continuum 4. The R5 is/was a great bass. Put it on consignment at BNW and got quite a bit more for it than the asking price on this one (in less than a month). So great deal here. GLWTS.
  9. No luck yet. Thanks guys.
  10. What's the balance like on this?
  11. Great balance. No neck dive at all.

Wow, rare. I thought Cotes had Smith pre's.

'chuck, not sure if you got to hear Jon Roberts' Cote (from 800East, bassist/producer), his looked identical and it had the Might p/ups and the Smith pre, killin tone.

Is there enough room on the truss rod to completely flatten the neck? I play crazy low action and have been looking for another fretted bass.
  18. There is plenty of thread on the truss rod to adjust the neck however you want it.
