    hello everyone!
The music that the vince guraldi trio did for the old 1960s charlie brown christmas special is not only my favorite holiday music, but one of my favorite jazz recordings of all time. i'm a teacher and we've been snowed out of school today, so i have some quality time with the ol' bass guitar. i'd like my project today to be to figure out some of the bass lines from that album. (i could just go out and buy the music, but my reading skills are still coming along. i thought this would be fun to learn by ear.)

what is the key to any/all of the songs on that album? anybody help out? thanks a ton, matt

  2. Matt,
You may have figured this out already, but here's some input for you.

"Linus and Lucy", which is the classic Peanuts theme, is in A-flat.

"Christmastime is Here" is in F

"Oh Christmas Tree" is generally played in D, but it's so simple, you could transpose it anywhere.

    Hope this helps.
