Can you reccomend a cheap EQ for bass? Thanks.
What kind of EQ? Graphic? Parametric? Passive? Active? More info please...
when in doubt... go boss
try somethings out
Yeah I'll try some out. Do they make special EQs just for bass or are they all made for guitar but work on bass? Will I loose any low end using a guitar EQ?
Boss make several. There's the GEB-7 which is the cheapest they do.
MXR also do one, as do Guyatone.
Look out with the guitar eq pedals, they may not go low enough in the frequency range to give you the bass boost you're looking for. Just check what the bottom band is that's being boosted.
As far as I know, MXR only do one, and the bottom band is about 100Hz, no good. Theres that new Kerry King Graphic EQ Distrtion thingy, but thats probably the same.
As much as I loathe Boss, there is no way to be negative about the GEB-7, shame really.
That's the old mxr-m109: http://www.jimdunlop.com/products/electronics/mxr/products/m109.html
The newer mxr-108 has lower bands at 31hz and 62hz
but you're right, it's hard to find fault with the Boss geb-7. Does what it's supposed to at a decent price.
I'll third the boss. The way mine is set, it fattens my sound up consierably.
Yep, thanks for correcting me. KK's pedal is based on the newer model, so itll be a useful bass eq, with plenty of overdrive. Interesting . . . . . . .
I have a Trace Elliot 7 band graphic EQ pedal I'm looking at selling
