I need to cut up a long CD audio file (a single performance from which I need highlights) and add fade ins and fade outs at the beginning and end of each clip.

Are there any freeware options that won't compromise the sound quality too much? (I really don't want to squander cash on such a simple, one-time operation.)

I've downloaded a few demos of full-featured products, but they won't le me save my work.

    HELP!

Do you know if I can save work out of the demo, though? Thanks for the tip!

    It's a 21-day demo.
MP3 save is limited to some minutes, and some minor stuff I can't remember, but wave save is not limited.

    Ok, the exact limitations:

demo is limited to 21 days
cd burning is limited to 21 days
mp3 and cel save are limited to 60 seconds.

    Everything else is not limited.

Still suits my needs, I think.

If I'm ever in Cologne, I'll buy you a drink!

    Salud!
