whats the best priced head and 4x10 cabinet?

I was looking at a laney 165w head for £245 and the cab for £289

    laney also do 15" combos - 165w for £339

    i think about the cheapest you can go is a hartke 2000 (200W@4ohms - 370 from samash.com) with a carvin 4x10 (430 with shipping). so about 800 bux...these are american $, btw.

or get something used if you can find a good deal...

i just noticed that the gear i mentioned is about = in price to the laney stuff you mentioned (figuring 1 pound = roughly 1.5 dollars). i think you'll have a hard time going cheaper than that with new equipment. i'm also not sure about overseas shipping costs...or if there's a hartke or carvin distributor over there.

  4. Ha! You can get a 700w Peavey-Head (Firebass 700 II) for $800!!!
It quite good sounding (clean!) and well built. Give it a try!

I think some of our European TBers need to answer this question... I wouldn't imagine that you could save any money buying gear in the US and shipping it overseas...
