Peavey Microbass. BASSPlayer magazine liked it. They rated it the best in their "Practice Amp Shootout" and, as usual, you can't go wrong with peavey gear.

Although, the new Ibanez SW amps look nice if you don't mind that hideous buzzing sound they make.
  6. My vote would have to go for the Peavey Microbass, or you could shop around for something used.

    If you want really cheap you can get a RB-20B 20W for $40, or a RB-50B 50W for $100.....

Anyway I'd suggest getting a Peavey or Fender.

Fender Bassman 25 for about $250 is a great practice amp. has a heaphone out, jack, Aux input w/ RCA jacks to plug your tape/disc player, in
ext spk, tuner out, line out, effects send / return
also has the tilt-back design angled like a stage monitor.
