When @Oddly posted a picture of his fresh stool in another thread, I thought it may be handy to have a thread for the miscellaneous kit (chairs, stools, footrests, etc) that provide comfort during practice/play. For me, when my smashed body gets a bit weary, I'm relying on a Gibraltar 9608 Drum Throne to provide some relief. {}
I'm liking your practice space, btw. Have you considered raising your amp up though, or mainly headphones used there?
Do @Oddly potentially used the amp (as a stool sAMP) until he went and got himself a proper place to park his derriere
lately I have been having problems with my stool so I'm eager to see how others are finding satisfaction
If it doesn't fold flat I won't use it. I bought a stool from K-Mart (I think) a few years ago. Perfect height, folds flat, light weight. Cost me $12-ish. It's not to sit on all night, just to take a load off my back, feet, and shoulders now and then. {}
In the country band I'm in the back row, and anyone who plays country knows there is nothing more boring on bass than a country waltz in 3/4 time. My cue to literally take a back seat.
This for gigs... {} This if I'm just going to a friends to play a little and I have a chair {} At home, I have a chunk of a 8x6 header on the floor {}
It's mainly headphones or low volume. I've only got the amp a week or two so it hasn't been outside to play yet. I do have a rehearsal with a new band next week and am planning on using it there. I'll most likely stick it on a beer crate or something for that.
^^^ I use a collapsible, acoustical decoupling platform under my 1x12. The hinges are buffered for maximum sympathetic resonance attenuation. {}
I haven't looked at it since I put the speaker there a week or two ago. I know that's a long time to have it in place with no movement. Yeah, I'm a little retentive...
