Tell me what you think! I got it today at this shop in College Park, MD. Atomic Music Vintage Guitars is a great place. If you are in the Maryland/DC area, you should check it out.

For some specs on my new bass, go here. I got mine in black.

I was planning on getting another 4string, but I decided to go more advanced and get a 5string. It plays soooooo well. It has a great sound. Hope you all like it.:D

I have been playing for about a year, and I have one other bass. It is an Ibanez TR 500 jazz bass. It plays well also, but it is a four string, and I couldn't go that much further with it. I needed something more advanced, so I decided on this one.

Glad you like it Bryhey. What basses do you have?

With all due respect, I can't believe that you pushed a 4 string to it's limits within a year of playing. Or do you mean, that it doesn't have the lower range that you want?

edited due to my crappy spelling :D

  9. Ya, I mean Flea and Victor Wooten play 4 strings and I really don't think they've pushed them to their limits, although Wooten might be close ;)

I meant that I wanted the lower range. A bunch of the songs that we (my band) want to play either need drop D, which I hate, and some of the songs that I wrote sound better lower. Another problem that I have is huge hands. It got uncomfortable holding the neck on the 4. The 5 has a wider neck, so my hands are more comfortable, and I could therefore play faster and more accurately.

Hohner... is that the same company that makes those harmonicas? :D

  13. I'm still trying to figure that out. I like the looks of their Phoenix bass.

  14. ...and accordions! :D

  15. COngrats for your new bass Nick..

I checked one of those a few years ago, it felt really confortable and the neck was very sleek, but i didn´t like the small string spacing...

And I´m almost sure it is the same brand of the harmonicas.

btw, Nick.. is your bass neck through?

Ah, Bro, thanks for clearing that up. You had me worried, thinking that that the next generation of Jaco was already posting at talkbass and was going to beat me to the title of "World's most awesome, kickbutt, killer, so good he makes Victor Bailey look like Mark Hoppus" award :D ;)

I've had a Hohner B-Bass VI for about six years now. It's a GREAT bass for the price!!

What do you mean by that?

BTW everyone, it is the same brand that makes the harmonicas and accordians. Seems like they make pretty good electric basses too. :D

  19. yeah... it was supposed to be a really pathetic joke! :p

    I play a Yamaha BBG5 btw... :)

    that's very nice. congrats :D

neck through means it was made with the neck through the body, as opposed to the neck being bolted or glued onto the body.
