    Alembic Essence bass

Obviously not an Essence....The lack of inlays and simple electronics say it is not a Stanley....Short scale and body speak otherwise....Super deal if its a Stanley. what do you all think?

98K in the serial number means it is an Essence (K) built in 1998.

Thing with Alembic is sometimes models are identified by their body style, sometimes by their electronics. This one has Essence electronics and was apparently optioned up to the small body style. I have one that is a Mark King body optioned up to Series II electronics. The serial number has 00MKC, meaning it was built in 2000, and is a Mark King Deluxe (MK) that was customized (C).
