    I Call This Mahogony Burst
    Its the natural mahogony bursted to black.Pic 1 Pic 2
    This is a hand built body for a bass I am building
    IT will have a wenge neck with pau ferro fingerboard.
    Just to give you an Idea.

    I wouldn't buy it but I can dig it. I'm not big on the grain of Mahogany. Sounds damn good though.
     
  3. Beautiful finish! Looks a lot like a tobacco burst, except, if I understand correctly, the center is just natural mahogany and not painted? It has a great color.

    I like it because the burst isn't too thick around the edge.

    Very nice.

    Yeah the center is natural mahogony.
    I have trouble covering beautiful wood with paint so I try to work around it.

    I really like it. I have often wondered what a burst finish would look like over Mahogany.

    Thanks for posting the pictures. Looking forward to the completed bass. Nice work!

    ...what's up with the plugged control holes?

    The plugged holes are there because I am extremely alergic to mahogony and I was rushing to get the finishing touches done and I miss calculated. I am planning on using a J-bass control plate, which I think will give the bass a cool vintage vibe. This kinda stuff happens once in a while.
     
  9. i think its very nice. paint in general makes me shiver. wood is just so beautiful.
