I remember back in '79 I was torn between buying one of these or a Gibson Ripper. Then I saw a Music Man Sabre and fate was kind enough to intervene.

It's a Magnum. Normally the pickguard/control cover is black plastic.
  5. They're not uncommon. I've seen a bunch. Played one once--didn't think much of it.
  6. I've played one like that. I really didn't like it that much. The one I played had a three-band slider eq, though. I think it was the only bass I've ever seen that didn't just have the regular knobs on it. Anyway, the tone was really muddy. The guitar shop that it was in had it for a pretty long time, and I think that they were getting desparate too sell it.

i think the only reason i'd buy that bass was just cause it looks like a tin can space ship.
it probably sounds like it looks.
but i still get a kick out of it :p

I hope the person that wins that thing shoots it and puts it out of its misery. :)

  12. Word to that yo.
  13. I've seen one similar to that at the local "Cash Converters" and I thought it was so ugly... I almost fainted.

But what the... with the transparent area and the cable thing??????

Hey, if it's good enough for Jah Wobble, it's still butt ugly.
