Check out this washtub bass I saw this weekend!

  1. I was at the Saturday market in Bellingham, WA and this all girl acoustic/bluegrass quartet was playing. The Bass Player was playing this bass:

    It's a "washtub/double-bass hybrid" as the website calls it. It had two strings and is tunable, and the player said that you could adjust the intonation. Attached is a shot of the lady playing it (My pretty wife is the lady in the red top just to the right). The band is called "The Blackberry Bushes" and the bass is from Cabletub Bass Co.

  7. That I'm not sure about. I don't know what kind of strings she had on it. She was slapping and plucking and had the ends of her index and middle fingers taped. You might want to email the Cabletub Bass guy.
