This bass was made by my friend Kevin Lee, who used to work for Modulus and now works as a cabinet maker. It was made for another friend of mine, but I got to hold on to it for a couple of weeks. It was still in final stages of completion, but it's all there and it's an amazing bass. I thought you guys would like to check his work. Sorry about the bad pics.
I'm not a big fan of the body, but It does look funtional for the access to lower frets. It does look like a nice well made bass though. I had to rotate the pic though.
Jeez, By-Tor, you're too fast! I played that bass at a couple of band rehearsals it cut through very nicely. Sustain for days.
With sustain for days, EMGs, and the 18v preamp I'd bet it sounds killer. Overall I'd say it looks pretty good, but what's the deal with the super sized fret board dots? Is it so the sober challanged audience members can see them better? GS
I didn't ask. So the dots are bigger than normal. They're still smaller than block inlays. It it were my bass, I'd have no dots at all.
Looks like a pretty nice job there. Bass side looks like a Fender Jazz. Treble side looks like a Danelectro Longhorn. Headstock looks sorta like an Elrick. Peace, James
Thats really an awsome job, and I think it came out really great. I can't even fathom building a bass from scratch (warmoth is my limit for now), and that really is an amazing thing to see.
Prog, a singlecut ? Actually I think that this bass would look great as a SC, especially cool with that access to the upper register.
Sorry BB,but that doesn't tickle my fancy...actually it doesn't tickle much of anything Hey...whats with the strings? they're blueish orangeish...thing. -Jon
