  1. CHiPs is on in the background, and holy cow! They got some funky bass grooves going on in the theme song!

    Damn, I'm gonna have to learn how to play that!

    Anyone have the TABs for it? :D LOL, just kidding guys!

    Check out the theme song to Barney Miller, too. The bass line gets pretty funky once the song kicks up. :)

    I may be totally smoking crack or something... but I believe the wonderously wonderful Chuck Rainey played bass on the Barney Miller theme. I know he played bass on the theme from "Sanford and Son"; that tune is actually called "Street Beater" - written by the man Quincy Jones.

    You know what I never understood about CHiPs? They were the California Highway Patrol, right? Then why the hell were they always patrolling in the city?

    Because Pancharelli(sp???) was a mad phat chick magnet always lookin to score with the ladies. It's hard to cruise for chicks when you're out on the highway. :D

    Which, oddly enough is probably also the reason why they had that whole beach episode where the guys were stealing stereos.

  14. I saw that eposode like last week! I love that surfer dudes car! The old ambulance with the airbrushed painting on the side. And the van with the airbrushed wolves on the side.

    But the short shorts on the guys were just scarey.:eek: Talk about smuggling some plums.:eek: :rolleyes:

    Is that the same episode with the rock on top of the hill and that kid tries to climb onto?

    Ever see the one where those two dudes steal that chicks engine right out of her car, while she's calling for help on the highway phone? Could that happen?

    Anyone realize that the band 7 Mary 3 got their name from that show?

  16. No, I think that was a different episode.

    It could happen, if they had the proper tools, a engine dolly, and a couple hours.

    Yeah, 7 Mary 3 is police code for something, I forgot what, I think B&E. 311 is also police code.

    7 Mary 3 and 4 are Ponch and John's call signs. "7 Mary 3 and 4 responding to possible break in at the old tire factory."

    I wouldn't know about Adam 12 -- I think that was way before my time! ;)

    Uh, oh-
    Where's Dave Siff when ya need him?
    I think it was Jim Hughart on "Barney Miller". ;)
    ...maybe I need to check my facts.

    Police Codes-
    "311" = Indecent Exposure
    "5150" = Criminally Insane
