after posting a couple of threads asking for advice on which bass to get, i have narrowed it down to 2. Either: Peavey Dyne (4 or 5 string) or OLP Stingray (The one that is about £200 or so) from musiciansfriend.com which is better any help is much appreciated. (sorry- i know that there have been a lot of threads about OLP 'rays but i really need advice) Cheers Cunndies
I guess my vote would have to be for the Peavey. Whether you get the 4 or the 5 is up to you. I have tried both, and I was not too impressed with the OLP Stingray. IMO, I think the Dyna bass is a better bet.
http://www.peavey.com/mi/bass_guitars.html That should be the page for the basses, I am not sure about any older models. jtbp
hmmm, are there two types of Dyna? i looked up the Peavey website and found a Dyna, but it was different to the one i was thinking of. i was referring to the one reviewed in issue 2 of Guitar Buyer. can anyone help me with this Cheers Cunndies
Halt, recoil, go previous. This is not the Dyna I think we had in mind. Peavey Obviously has rehashed the name on a lesser model to cause confusion. I remember when I was in Germany, the Cirrus I saw was made in Korea. This is the one you probably saw:
sorry about the whole thing with the other thread. anyway, can anybody tell me if the new Dyna is better than an OLP 'ray. Cheers (and sorry) Cunndies
good point, i know thaat i have to choose but was wondering if anybody had tried both and, if so, what they thought. cheers for your input though Cunndies
ok, sorry for going on about this for so long, but i have thought of another bass (around the same price) that , if possible, i would like to know of the quality relayive to the others. the OLP Stingray (£200 ish) the new Peavey Dyna(£199 or £219 for 5 string) the Epiphone Thunderbird (£224) Cunndies
