Hi all. I'm working on a song for the band i'm hired to lead for a couple of weeks (see Songs that everyone likes thread in misc for info), and we're gonna play I wish. I'm having some troubles with the voicings on the second part though.

The chords i can figure out so far is Bb7, C7, Fm7, Bb7. But í feel i'm missing out on some voicings, and i've never been good at hearing harmony. I practice on it, but there's quite alot going in this song with the horns and the rhodes. I've got the bassline, but I could do with some help on the voicings. Anyone care to give me a clue? And does the Ebm7 and Ab7 have any more voices i should be aware of?

    Thanks!

I used to have an "I Wish" 'lesson' posted over @www.activebass.com

    I just looked & here's the progression I used(my personal notes from the '70s)-

    lEbm7---lAb7---l x 4 bars(8 bars total)

    lBb7-C7-l = bar 9

    lFm7-Abm7-l = bar 10

    lBb7-C7-l = bar 11

    lFm7-Bbaug7-l = bar 12

If you need the 'exact' voicing I used...you'll have to wait until I get home.
