chord charts

Discussion in 'Band Management [BG]' started by Youngspanion, Mar 2, 2006.

  1. Does anyone know where I can get some chord charts for song?. I want to get a band going and someone suggested that I come up with a list of songs (8-10) and I get chord charts. Where can I get these?

what kind of band/songs. most jazz standards can be found in the Real Book. I suggest looking for a fake book for whatever genre you plan on playing.

  3. mostly rock. Maybe Chuck Berry. Some old standards that aren't too hard. Whats a fake book and a Real Book?

a fake book has chord charts with the meleodies written out as opposed to an arrangement with all parts. the real book is a jazz fake book. as far a chuck berry style stuff goes that's all 1 4 5 changes and most people should be able to play that without a chart, if not they need to learn to those are pretty much the most used chord progressions.
