chords for songs on the internet

    I'm a newbie. I've downloaded some TABS, and am having trouble relating to them. I'd rather learn scales, chords, fifths etc (forgive the lack of technical terms), and then try to apply the theory to songs on CD. So I thought if I could find chord listings for some good old rock songs, I could work at experimenting and playing along.

    Is this a good way to learn?
    Can naybody suggest some of the better sites for chords for songs. Thanks folks.

    Search for guitar tab sites - guitar tabs have chords for songs.
