I play in an environment that is all over the place stylisticly, and am struggling to keep ahead of the changes in dynamics, not to mention tone.(tone changes are not that large) I have split neck/jazz bridge pickups running V V T on the knobs, and quick changes are hard, with no chance to hear myself before the next song starts. I'm going to get a volume pedal, is a chorus pedal worth having? What does it do?

The chorus pedal makes it sound like two or more bass's are playing together. It's almost like a quick echo. I use it at church for some of the slower songs to add depth.

My best advice would be for you to go to a guitar store and test ALL the pedals that they have for bass. Each one is different and only you'll be able to tell which one's you'd use the most. Good luck.
