Selling my Chris Savino from 2010. It’s a fantastic instrument in very good condition, with a huge low spread and a singing high end. Truly one of the most resonant instruments I have ever come across. Extremely easily to play, and the large neck projection makes thumb position very accessible. The back is made from a beautfiul piece of maple, and I've included pictures detailing of the flaming and grain.

Chris' basses currently sell at $55k and there is a long waiting list. Only selling this bass to raises funds for an older instrument.

The bass is located in Chicago, but I willing to drive a reasonable distance for serious inquiries.

    41.5” string length
    Anima Nova adjustable sound post
    D-neck
    Extension by Robertsons

    Josh,
My name is Karl Fenner, bassist with the Atlanta Symphony. I may be interested in your Chris Savino Bass. What is the best way to chat for you?

    just dm'ed you.

  4. Hey Josh, how did the anima nova soundpost work out for you? What did you learn about your bass in terms of SP placement and tension, that you may have struggled with before with a traditional SP?

I’m totally convinced by it. I’ve found that my bass wants slightly lower tension on the post for orchestral playing and I can give slightly more tension if I want a brighter sound. It essentially makes the bass play at its optimum.

The bass is in Chicago now, I’m willing to travel within reason for a trial. Also considering offers.

Where did you get the extension installed?

  9. It looks like my Robertson's extension. Masterpieces IMHO.

Yes it is a Robertsons extension. The extension came with the bass, but I know not too long ago they were $2500.
