His latest album, Traveller, I think is pretty good. For a country album the bass is a major part of several songs, and it's usually high in the mix. It's been a long time since I've turned on an album and just sat down in the bedroom and played along but I enjoyed doing so in this particular case. I haven't heard anything eles he's done. Basically, I heard Tennessee Whiskey on Pandora and decided to check him out. Obviously, I was pleasantly surprised. No big Nashville sterile sound to it, some songs are just bass drums and guitar, others are mandolin driven, and so on. If you're even a little bit of a country fan, or like in my case a roots/alt country fan, I think you might like it.
I passed up the chance to see him, and his band, a few months ago. That conversation led me to look him up. I won’t make That mistake again! Sweartogawd!
