I jst bought the entire lot of muse albums (all 3 :D ) and ive gotta say. that guy can play!

I love how chris uses the overdriven tone alot, but its not a phat, chunky metal song (as alot of other overdriven bass tones are used in) His lines in Hysteria and Stockholme Syndrome are pretty darn cool aswell. I saw Muse at the Big Day Out in January, and they were an awsome live act aswell. Chris did a fancy taping solo while the guitarist re-strung he's guitar.

Anyone else got opinions on this guy?

    Yeah, he's great.

They're finally touring over in the US again next month. I know they're playing the Coachella festival, they're also playing Bowery Ballroom here in NYC.

    WOO HOO! Muse fans!

I heard of them through their "hit" here, Time Is Running Out, and got their first cd, Showbiz. Their bassist is a stud. I can't wait to pick up Absolution as it was released stateside today, but my local shop doesn't have it! :(

Anyone know what he plays? Looking forward to seeing them in the US. Seattle, anyone???

Yup, he's been playing the single soapbar Pedulla Raptures for the last couple of years. From what I remember, he doesn't play 5 strings and detunes when necessary

They are some awsome basses with an awsome tone. I think he brought out a Sadowsky when they played the Big Day Out aswell :)

Woo hoo! I have the DVD coming via New Zealand Mail in a few days. Can't wait.

In the mean time, check out www.muse.mu and you can see the video for Time is Running Out and an incredible live performance of Hysteria featuring an amazing bassline that is carried off without a hitch. Unbelievable.

I have the Hullaballoo DVD. It's very cool.

  15. i know this is late, but i have an interesting story. here at UWS, we have a radio station. the station is in the middle of a clean-up, so they are getting rid of CDs for free! you can just take them by the boxfull! so anyways, i was looking through them and i found a copy of Muse--Muscle museum EP--and i picked it up just because i remembered people here talking about it. i just listened to it last night, and these guys are really good!

--just thought i'd add to all the redundancy of saying how much we like muse--

In the basement of Holden at UWS there's a room in the back of the listening lab where all the radio station's old vinyl went... you'll be surprised(and mighty pleased) with some of the stuff you'll find in there.

are you in the music program there?

I just picked up Showbiz, it's good; but not Absolution good. :D

Cool band, interesting singer/guitarist who is one hell of a pianist, and learning the line to Time is Running Out wasted the better part of an hour for me. :bassist:

What is their other album like?

Origin of Symmetry has, IMO, more standout great songs on it than Showbiz.
