So not battery powered, because it needs a Transformer?

I had a Microtron. Now own a Chromatron. The Chromatron is on a much higher level in terms of controls. Much more versatile than the Microtron.

Thanks - apart from versatility, which sounds and feels better (to you)?

I am a Mutron guy so I will always say Mutron Microtron. I am not convinced that 3leaf know how to make a filter that truly quacks.

I don’t need a ton of flexibility - I just need an awesome quack.

  12. I agree… I’ve played all of the 3 leaf filters except the latest, and when I picked up my Microtron III, it was a immediately aparent that the MicroTron III had the quack I heard in my head. The GR2 came closest, but all the others sounded weak in comparison to the MicroTron III.

Got to try them side by side, and my take:

    - Microtron feels like part of the tone, very organic
    - Chromatron is much cleaner, and more precise, as well as more flexible

For my tastes, I enjoyed the microtron more for what it does.

If you are looking for funky Quack I will go off base a bit and suggest the MR Black Fwonkbeta. Quack for days.
